A Young Darkness - Visitor's Poem
by Krysten Flohr
(Temecula, California, USA)
Rain.
Shadows leap, up and down.
So quiet, they make no sound.
Darkness overpowers every laugh, every smile.
Frightening just one small child.
This child is scared and lost.
Now this darkness will pay the cost.
Hatred taking away the fear.
Evil smiles so deeply sincere.
Facts are turning into lies.
Stories are turning into sad sighs.
Nobody can take away this child's pain.
Except the child itself, so insane.
Darkness cradles the child.
Hoping its work was worthwhile.
Now the child is grown up and brave.
Now there is no child to save. - We were once all scared of the dark, but when we grow up, the dark is just a part of our life.
