As I Linger - Visitor's Poem

by Jennifer Henry
(Hamilton, Ohio, USA)

A thousand things I want to say
But as I speak you turn your face away
Like a breeze that will soon pass
But the thought of me lingers
And soon his mask will shatter
And no matter what he says
the pieces will never bind
He will no longer live in the lies
I will no longer live with the pain
And you will live with the truth
As light shines on the broken pieces
A sweet breeze starts to blow
The dampness soon dries
And life starts to grow
