Beautiful Sorrow - Visitor's Poem
by Iris Midori Hirata
(Am. Samoa)
It sparkles at the corner of your eye You see it and wonder why Something so beautiful Can come from such sorrow
A tear As it runs down your face Appears Due to unfair fate
It runs down and drops Leaving evidence of a fault
You may wipe it from your eye Although still lingering is the sorrow Be brave, hold on Make it till tomorrow
In each tear Is a little bit of pain So remember, when you cry It is not in vain
The sparkle is there Placed by God To remind you, the hope for another day Of which you will grow fond
Out of this An exotic flower emerges Strong, hopeful With a whole lot of courage
