For My Daughter - Visitor's Prose

It seems like such a short time ago since you came into this world. My little bud in the garden of life. You were so small, so fragile, and your grasp on life was so tenuous. Mere words cannot adequately express the joy and pride I felt as I held you in my loving arms.
Sweetheart, the years have flown by since then. Where, oh where, have they gone? As my body grows older and my hair turns to a silvery grey, I want you to know that my love for you is all that it ever was - and more.
My little bud has blossomed into a radiant rose. Sometimes I gaze at you whilst you are not looking and my pride wells up inside, for not only do I see my child, but I also see a beautiful lady standing before me. A lady who has grown in confidence and maturity. A lady with two little 'buds' of her own to love and cherish - my wonderful grandchildren.
And so, the cycle continues.
I want you to know, Sweetheart, that my love for you is as magical now as it was on the day you were born. It will last forever; for eternity. Thank you for being my Daughter, my confidant, my friend.
