Grievance - Visitor's Poem

by Diana "Aina" Competente
(Philippines)

Violence, crimes, anger, and hatred
Adversities encountered by people in hundreds
The earth's rotating; the time's changing
But conflicts and wars keep on increasing.

I thought that these end up soon
But a struggle between aims and principles
Let everyone make strenuous effort and dramatic action
To make the situation stick up to conclusion.

But how can a woman like me be of help?
I had no idea or magic to keep
This incredible circumstance we learn to accept
Because of this underdog that precept.

How can a man learn the strength to fight?
If he had no power but to destruct
And when will he able to retrieve
If he only knew how to retaliate?

No! This time is not for repentance
And this time is not for grievance
But let us rejoice for it's time for renaissance
And let us proclaim for observance.

Now this era is assisting us to prepare
To offer love and peace everywhere
So that light of oneness will glitter
And orderliness will shine and glare.
