I Do - Visitor's Poem
by Mary Walker Butler
(Gadsden, AL, USA)
What a special day it is; for today we say "I Do". We'll say our vows so solemnly; then we'll both say "I love you"!
Our day we've planned so carefully With pink roses, white dress, and tux. When I walk down the aisle to you, You'll know I love you so much.
As my Dad gives me away, He'll cry and smile broadly, too, His little girl will become be your wife, Then he'll give my hand to you.
I'm sure he'll likely be thinking, "You take care of my precious girl. You know she's our pride and joy. She is our very world".
I know we will love completely; And you'll keep me from all harm. With the tender words, "I do", Our lives will be filled with charm.
I become yours to have and hold. You'll be mine the same way, too. We now have each other forever more. God bless us, me and you.
