A Few Moments
by Fion Lim

Portrait of a Girl

Sitting here staring at the computer screen,
moments shared flashing across,
bringing me to the past,
your face resurfaced in my mind.

Listening to soft instrumental music,
memories built swirling around,
tugging at my heart insistently,
your warmth and gentleness hugged me.

Pausing all my actions in mid motion,
images locked unfolding once more,
stirring bittersweet emotions,
your presence never left me.

Shuffling among the good memories,
open conversations stimulating my heart,
reaffirming my love for you once more,
your sincerity kissed my soul.

Smiling sweetly at no one,
visions created mingling happily,
filling me up with hopes and wishes,
your future links intricately with mine.

Geography Lesson in Love
by Tanja Cilia

Clouds

Cloud is candyfloss... candyfloss is my thoughts of you...
On stratus cloud nine when you call me...
Under a pileus cloud when you don't
Altocumulus, altostratus, billows, cirrostratus,
Words that flow like cumulonimbus, mellifluously
From the text; as 'I love you' surges from your lips
Ten thousand times but not enough.
Visible masses; condensed droplets; frozen crystals.
Congealed tears. Homogenised sorrows.
Suspended in the atmosphere.
And our love rises higher and higher,
Contrail spiral on the horizon is our future...
The orographic silver lining is our love.
Cumulus; a 'heap' of good weather.
Aristophanes; patron goddesses of idle fellows
Cirrus means 'curl of hair' like the one that falls
Over your eye with a life of its own.
mammatus-nimbus-orographic-stratocumulus.
My head in the clouds when I think of you.
I love you.

I Wonder If She Knew
by David L. Weatherford

Heart-Shaped Hands

Did she know I thought about her when I woke up each morning, as I drifted to sleep each night, and most of the time in between; and that even when I was not consciously thinking about her, I continually sensed the presence of her love within me?

Did she know I used to sit and look at her as she slept, studying the tranquil beauty on her angel's face; and that I said little prayers over her asking that sweet serenity would always grace her countenance?

Did she know I admired the way she cared for her family, friends, and anyone in need, and accepted everyone without judgement or criticism; and that she was my role model for how to treat people?

Did she know she went to places in my heart and mind where no one had ever gone before; and that I exposed the totality of my self - - the good, the bad, and the ugly - - because I had such complete and utter trust in her love for me?

Did she know she was the best friend I ever had, and the bond between us had a depth and breadth that could not be severed by anything less than a mutual decision based on true love at its most unselfish?

Did she know I loved her profoundly and unconditionally, not just for her loveliness, sexiness, or intelligence (all of which I adored), but more for the grace and goodness that defined her essence to me; and that I marveled at how animals, children, and adults (young and old) were drawn to her gentle warmth like flowers to the morning sun?

Did she know I thanked God daily for intersecting the winding roads of our lives so that my life might be forever changed by the touch of her spirit; and that I believed He sent her as an angel to love me, lift me, and lead me to a better place emotionally and spiritually?

And I wonder if she knows that I love her still, not less for the passing of yesterdays without her, but more for knowing what will be missing from all my tomorrows; and that it helps me, when I contemplate the harshness of life in this unyielding world, to remember that out there somewhere is a rare and precious soul - - and she loved me.

Loving Each Phase
by Fion Lim

Couple on the Beac

The guy you love today,
May not be the same person the day after.

Are you ready,
To accept the new him at each phase of his life?

Do you demand that he stay,
Consistently the same day in day out throughout the years?

Seasons come and seasons go,
Flowers bloom and flowers wither,
Skies blue and skies grey,
Yet you can learn to appreciate them all.

Do you love him enough,
To accept him at all the different phases that he is going through?
Do you love him enough,
To let him grow and change just as you grow and change too?

May you learn to love the guy you love,
At each phase of his life.

You Are My Butterfly
by Tanja Cilia

Butteflies

You Are... My Butterfly
You brought colour to my life...
You helped me to select the sweet from the bitter
And savour the moment.
You showed me how to take things lightly
You helped me soar above
My worries.
You helped me spread my wings
And notice the flowers.

You are my butterfly, and I love you.
You showed me it’s true that if
You chase a butterfly, away he flies;
But if you sit still, he brushes your cheek
With his wings and changes the
Monochrome vistas of grey
Into a suffusion of colour.
Never were poppies so crimson
Or daffodils so yellow
As now.

Green apples and honey
Mint and liquorice and ginger, and
Stamens of the honeysuckle
Were never so real.
You are my butterfly.
Diving into the cool water
Feeling the warmth of a puppy
Touching an empty cocoon
Listening to the rain
Seeing the sun set
Hearing the rustle of leaves
Were never so aesthetic and sensual
As they has become since I
Met you.
For you are
My Butterfly.
You are my inspiration, the love of
My Life.
My Butterfly.
