Some say kindness is a fleeting notion
sought by dreamers who have no clue about life
Some say kindness has gone out of style
suffocated by a world filled with greed and strife

Feel sorry for those who view kindness
as an out-of-date relic that no longer exists
A world built on cynicism and doubt
makes it difficult even for love to persist

Kindness is a spirit most gentle
that lives in everyone’s heart
It brings us to a place of comfort and peace
For many it provides a new start

We can push kindness aside for convenience
It may at times get in our way
But kindness will never be erased from this world
We see its effects each and every day

Kindness does not have to be a grand effort
It is a smile, a gesture, a comforting embrace
Kindness restores our hope in each other
Kindness gives heart to the entire human race

Practice kindness each day that you live
It will nourish your mind and soul
Kindness rids our lives of emptiness
Kindness makes us whole
