My Mother - Visitor's Poem
by Barnali Saha
(Nashville, TN, USA)
The Lonesome
I stay in a foreign land, Far from your shore, faraway from your sand, Every dawn of my chiaroscuro, Every passing fancy a thought of you borrow, I miss you, oh! how I miss you mother. I cannot say that, I am far away. You are happy in your little world, I do great in this swirl, Sheaf of clouds as they fly in the sky, I tell them tell my mother I miss her. The clouds pass the seven seas and reach you soon, And tell you in unspoken words that your daughter misses you in the sun and moon.
