On My Own - Visitor's Poem
by Aryn Nantau
(Windsor, Ontario, Canada)
I've let you down, but you didn't turn away
I've hurt you bad, you came back for me the next day
I said things and did things, you said it was all fine
I never have forgotten the way you tend to shine.
I pushed you somewhere else, I never understood why
I avoided and deleted your calls, then I turned around and cry
It's not you it's me, I often say this out loud
You're not the first nor the last
and believe me I'm not proud
I got your email, I received your call
I can't seem to break free from this built up wall
Tonight like many others I walk on my own
I never thought I cared, after all this is what I have shown.
