On The Prowl - Visitor's Sad Love Poem

Well now babe you are home all alone.
While I was not around.
Did you go into town today.
To look for the love you never found.
Did you see her standing at the corner all alone.
Did you walk up to her.
And say babe do you need a ride home.
Did she tell you yes then flash you that sexy smile
That was always your problem babe.
You were always on the prowl.
You never stay at home with me.
I could never understand why.
You would call and say babe I am working late again tonight.
I will be home in a little while.
As I would hang up the phone I would try to smile.
I would tell myself you would be home in a little while.
I knew in my heart though this was not true.
That I would not see him for a week or two.
He would say babe I am sorry but work took me out of town.
In my heart though I knew he was messing around.
With his lady boss in town.
I tried not to let it get to me.
But I could not take it no more.
I packed a few belongings then I walked out the door.
So I drove by his work place to take a look around.
My heart was right he was messing around.
As I walked into his office he did not see me walk in.
He was having too much fun with that lady boss of his.
I did not say anything as I quietly walked out the door.
I got into my car and drove away.
Never to look back no more.
Then my cell rang in about a week or two.
He said you are coming back to me babe.
I said no I guess we are through.
He asked me why and this was what I said.
Well you never would stay home with me.
I could never understand why.
You would always called and say babe I am working late tonight.
I will be home in a little while.
You see that was always your problem babe.
You were always on the prowl.
