Sometimes - Visitor's Poem
by Barnali Saha
(Nashville, TN)
Sunset Bright.
Sometimes I miss you more than the world, Sometimes I yearn for your touch, When beside me you sit and breathe, I long to smell that warmth.
Sometimes I feel I love you more than the world, more than the "things" I crave. Incapacitated by a strange numbness, seldom I can say, That I uncontrollably want you, just you. Like an insensate, pummeled lump of clay, Drowned, I the troglodyte might lay, I know to my rescue you would come. Despite the curmudgeon that I have been, unknowingly.
Yet, devoid of all feelings, numb, soporific when I am, An inkling of hope in me springs out, And like a lightning, a shot of acute pain It tells me that you are the only "thing" I want.
