Stargazer - Visitor's Poem

by Gina Evangelisti
(Honolulu, HI, USA)

Here I am able to
Fall out of time and place
And laugh because I am lonely
And cry because I know
That I’ll never truly fathom this world
Fading into the constellations
As the black void consumes my pupils
I am whole above my ceilings,
But beneath it I’m in pieces.
I want to lie here forever
I want to know this feeling forever.
And sink deep into the stars
that will stare back at me forever.
