Thank You - Visitor's Poem

This year on Father's Day
Not a word had I to say
But a prayer of thanksgiving on my knees I pray
For the Lord gives and take away.

I thanked the Lord for your time with us
For your love, patience and trust
I thanked the Lord for a friend
And for a father who stood and fought for us
Till the end.

You left without a word of goodbye
Bringing tears to our eyes
Yet everything looked so beautiful in God's sight
For he alone knows the plan of our lives.

We, as a family, dad, thank the Lord for the good fight fought
And the plans for us he sought
Most of all we thank him for the life of a wonderful man
We have called dad and our best friend.
