The Day is What You Make It, So Make Yours a Great One!

by Steve Schulte
(Alpharetta, GA, USA)

I don't think you would call this a story as much as a way to live your life.

I have had this personal saying for over 20 years now. Anyone that has called me and got my voice mail or received an email from me knows this saying, "The Day is What You Make It, So Make Yours a Great One!" I don't think there is a day that goes by without me getting a great message from someone on my voice mail telling me I've made their day without even talking to them.

This saying is even what attracted my wife to me. She fell in love with the saying first, then to me! That made my day! I hope it will make yours too!

Attitude is a Choice
by: Karr, Charleston, SC

Great minds think alike!

Many years ago, I developed the habit of ending my letters and e-mails with, "Have - no make it -a great day."

I am constantly surprised by people's reactions to that simple statement. For many, it comes as a shock that they actually have control over their personal outlook and lives. So many make the sad mistake of blithely accepting whatever the world dishes them and willingly wear the shackles of victim.

If you haven't already, I suggest reading, Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl. Written in 1946, it's his personal account of how he mentally coped and physically survived the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp by choosing to always look for the good in any situation, no matter how bleak. If you can find inner peace in the middle of a Nazi concentration camp, I'd listen to what this man has to say!

We can make it better and we do,
Karr

It's a Perk Me Up
by: Fion

Hi Steve, thanks very much for your contribution. While it's a short sharing of your personal saying that you've been using for the past 20 years, it's effective and brought a smile to my face! I hope your day turns out great today and always!
