Want To Be The One - Visitor's Love Poem

by Amanda Dzioba
(West Allis, Wisconsin, United States)

I want to be the one who can read your mind
I want to be the one who you want to see all the time
I want to be the one you tell your problems to
I want to be your sweetheart who always tells the truth
I want to be the one who never makes you mad
I want to be your supporter whenever you feel sad
I want to be the one who makes your heart want to burst
I want to be your best friend who always puts you first
I want to be the one who makes you feel great
I want to be the one who's loyal to you and waits
i want to be the one who stole nothing but your heart
I want to put together the pieces to your life when it falls apart
I want to be the one who knows you inside and out
I want to be the one who takes away your doubt
I want to be the one you vent to when you're pissed
I want to be the girl you fall madly in love with.

Want to Be the One
by: Karr

Dear Amanda,

WOW! You captured in words what men and women yearn for in their hearts. Unfortunately, before they find a totally committed partner as you described, they settle for far less based on shallow wants like money, good looks, or easy gratuitous sex. None of those reasons come close to fulfilling the heart and soul's desires to be unconditionally loved for who we are, and nothing more. I feel we all yearn to be in a relationship where two hearts beat as one.

If we could live our lives to the standards you so elloquently expressed, the world would be a far better place. Your standards remind me of the boy scout oath. Wouldn't the world be a better place if, like a scout, we could all be:

Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean and Reverant?

How many people do you know live up to those or your standards? When it comes to finding a spouse, never settle for anything less.
