When I Held You - Visitor's Poem
by Carl Stoynoff
(Canada)
When God blessed me with your presence I held you in life long regard, When the Angels gave birth to you I held you 'til you could fly, When the Sun kissed your face under my sky I held you up to everyone's light, When the Moon broke through the darkness I held you close inside my arms, When all others shunned your existence I held you up when knees gave in, When the night terrors arrived in sleep I held back the monster's tribe, When the thunder and lightening came I held your hand and tried, When you lost faith and trust in me I held my face and cried, When I finally woke up and said good-bye I was holding your shattered picture in my mind.
