Persistent - Visitor's Poem
by Phyllis Strong
(Georgia, USA)
I’d rather make several mistakes than not to have tried at all. I’d rather help the poor in need than for people to beckon my call.
I’d rather try to climb a mountain than to be content in a valley all day. I’d rather do without my wants than to charge-up a debt I can’t pay.
I’d rather have one friend I can trust than to have ten phony friends. I want to be a friend you can trust; on whom you can depend.
I’d rather step out on faith than to live in the “wish I would.” I’d rather be able to give generously; than to say “I wish I could.”
I’d rather trust God at His word than not to trust Him at all. I want to do what glorifies Him; walking in my call.
The toll road to success is long and bumpy; I’ll try my best to succeed. Lord when I’m weary and want to give-up Please send the helper I need.
