Say My Prayers - Visitor's Story

by Author Unknown

When I was tucking my daughter into bed one night, she asked me if we could pray together, and we aren't a family that says prayers every night. As an adult, I rarely pray on my own and here was my four-year-old daughter asking to pray with me, just out of the blue! I was planning to tell her that her grandmother had cancer the next morning, and I thought that I might as well tell her that before we prayed. But she started right away and I didn't get the chance. She prayed right away for her grandma's strength during her battle with cancer. I cried and later asked her how she knew. She told me she heard daddy and I talking about it when we thought she wasn't listening. She knew that she could get into trouble, but she prayed anyway. It has been seven years now and grandma is cancer-free, doing spectacular. I learned to pray more on my own. I've learned that prayer is the strongest medicine of all.
