Here's a beautiful collection of Buddha quotes to give you a glimpse of this great and remarkable spiritual teacher's teachings. Let the wisdom of the Buddha light up your journey of life.

Born as Prince Siddhartha Gautama, Gautama Buddha was believed to live approximately between 563 BCE and 483 BCE. He attained enlightenment at the age of 35 while he was sitting under the Bodhi tree.

From then now, Gautama Buddha was known as "The Perfectly Self-Awakened One".

I studied Buddhism as a subject in school fifteen years ago. However, I admit that I was too young then or rather not ready at that time, to really appreciate or apply Buddha's teachings to my life.

Recently, somehow his name started to appear in the some of the spiritual books that I've been reading. Once again, I chanced upon some of his teachings and this time, they make sense to me. In fact, I began to see that his teachings hold great wisdom and are applicable to our daily lives.

May you bask in the wisdom of this great and splendid spiritual teacher!

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.
-- Buddha

Let yourself be open and life will be easier. A spoon of salt in a glass of water makes the water undrinkable. A spoon of salt in a lake is almost unnoticed.
