Everything Happens For A Reason - Visitor's Inspiring Poem

by Heidi Zelaya
(Canada)

Looking out from my apartment window.
I enjoy the most beautiful sight.
The dark and blue sky and its many stars.
The fresh air coming from my open window.
I say to my self "everything is alright" "the best is just to come".

Life is a gift given to many without waiting for something in return.
Just like when you give birth to a child and hold them in your arms.
From that instant moment your heart gets stolen.
Without knowing that you have given yourself with no limits, nothing in return.

Time teaches you that life is not a garden with roses.
Like I thought when I was a child.
I saw things so pure, so beautiful, so perfect.
I saw with the eyes of a child... Now I am an adult.

Now.. Yes... Now I see with the eyes of a mother.
That fights constantly for the welfare of her children.
To be the greatest gift that they can ever receive.
It's hard... Yes... It is very hard but, what is not hard in this life?
If you are going to put an effort into something, put an effort into this...
To be a mother and a bestfriend.

Here I am, seen everything from inside out.
Not everything is perfect, pure or beautiful.
I have nothing to offer, materially speaking.
The only thing I have to offer is my heart.
A heart that beats when I see both of my children and their beautiful smiles.

Peace... What a beautiful feeling, that is what inspires me.
How different you see life when you see things in a positive way.
Even when everything in your surroundings is dark and you find yourself with no escape.
When you see your past and you learn from it.
Taking away from you all the negativity.
Accepting that everything happens for a reason.

Looking out from my apartment window
I enjoy the most beautiful sight
The dark and blue sky and its many stars
The fresh air coming from my open window
I say to myself "everything is alright" "the best is just to come"

INSPIRATION...
