Memories - Visitor's Poem

by Soualah Afef
(Algeria )

Memories, who don’t want them, back?
The words that we said
The songs that we sung
The faces that we met
The moments that we shared
We long for them all
'Cause they are part of us
The bad and the good
The bitter and the sweet
We have them all
No matter how hard we tried to forget
We can’t
'Cause they are stuck in our head
They look like the streets
That we want roam
Every time we are alone
And there is no place to call home
Memories are the scars that never concealed
They are the wounds that never healed
They are the flame that still burn
Simply the page that we can’t turn
