Normal - Visitor's Poem

by Scotty
(Glasgow, UK)

To be normal,
A phrase overused
For what is normal
and in whose view

To be like the rest
To act like others
Be the same as your sister
Do as your brother

Why do we have to be normal
Why cant we all be bizarre
If we’re all trying to be normal
When will we all go too far

Will we change our thoughts
To be accepted
Will we change our ways
To fit in

For how bland it would be
To be exactly like me
How dull it’d be to be you
So live life different from your friends
And your heroes just do what you want to do.

Unique and different
by: Fion

Hi Scotty, thanks for sharing! It would be like you said, bland if everyone is normal and the same. Everyone is inherently unique and different, and that gives a wonderful mix of variety in this world. There's only one you, so embrace yourself!
