Permafrost - Visitor's Poem

by Annette Naude
(Ireland)

Dark and damp within my soul
The beauty in the corm, frozen cold
Yearning for the sun above
Melting ice reveal the love

Blessed sun, shine down on me
Clear the frost and set me free
Drive away this cursed night
That hides my petals from the light

Bursting forth into the sun
Rejoicing, singing life begun
To grab the rays and hug them tight
Love, living, giving clearer sight

Knowing, seeing deep inside
The dark and damp
Where evil hide is not for me
It’s not for me to go deep down

Where cold and frost and winter cold
Strangle the warmth within my soul
I seek the sun, the warmth of love
And true content from God above

Human nature
by: Fion

Hi Annette, thanks for sharing this poem that makes one think on a deeper level! It speaks of human nature, both the good and the bad sides that exist within everyone of us. And how many of us yearn for positiveness and inspiration to keep us on the good side.
