To Dad with Love - Visitor's Poem

by Author Unknown

When I took my first step
I never wished for you
coz I didn't know who you were
My thoughts were just shaping

As the days went by and by
It just came to me
"Where is dad?", I asked the chicks
Which came along with mother hen

"Is he in a far away country?
Just like mine", I mused
Right at the start of childhood
I started missing you

When other kids walked along
With dad and mom at their side
I started writing my pages
With anger and bitterness to you

People said you were cruel
There were many to curse you
And in the midst of all the chaos
I longed to hear your answers in vain

But when you opened your heart to me
Just a few words summed up your struggles
And you spoke right from your soul
And I couldn't help but love you

Using the pieces I paint your portrait today
And when I gaze at the picture I've drawn
I can see your smile and touch your heart
And I can do nothing but love you still

Unconditional love
by: Fion

Thanks for sharing your heartfelt poem! Even though it's usually the parents who shower unconditional love upon their kids, sometimes kids will exhibit the same to their parents too as shown in this poem.
